Itch

do you ever get that itch?
right beneath your skin
you can see your vein so clearly
and you just wonder
what would it feel like
to run a sharp knife down that line
what would it look like
to take a clean blade and turn it blood red

do you ever picture it in your mind
ever so lightly dragging it
across your fragile skin
don't want to cut to deep
just enough to spill
and know
know what it would feel like
know what it would look like

do you ever?

then one day
you don't want to imagine anymore
so you find your favorite daggar
you're not doing it to hurt yourself
you don't want to die
you just want to know what it's like
but suddenly your bleeding
much more than you should be
while justifying your action
you cut too deep
you start to panic
not knowing what to do
then suddenly your mind pulls you
back to your previous thoughts
what if your wondering was really so much more
just an excuse to go through with it
had you really just accidentally cut to deep
or did it mean more

then everything goes black

no more time to ponder
